Andrew Wood is Professor of Statistics. He has broad research interests within statistics, including: non-Euclidean statistics, especially directional statistics and statistical shape analysis; theoretical statistics, including asymptotic theory and methods; computational methods; and applications of statistics, especially in the sciences and medicine. Andrew's research has been supported by a number of grants, with significant funding from the UK research councils, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. He has published frequently in the leading statistical journals including Journal of the American Statistical Association, Biometrika and Annals of Statistics. Andrew is a former Joint Editor of Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B and a current Associate Editor of Biometrika.
