Biography
Dr. Ding Ding is a Lecturer in Finance at the Australian National University. She holds a PhD in Financial Economics from the University of Toronto, where she also received a degree in Master of Financial Economics, and an Honors Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Her research explores how external market conditions affect corporate performance and investment decisions and financial markets. Ding Ding’s research underpins her teaching, for which she received an Australian Awards for University Teaching Award for Teaching Excellence in recognition of leadership and creativity in creating an innovative and engaging learning environment for her students.

In addition to being interested in finance academically, she has enjoyed working as a risk management economist at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and also a subject expert consultant in Corporate Finance for the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario, Canada.

Teaching
Ding Ding teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. She has received awards for teaching that include the 2018 Australian Awards for University Teaching - Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, the 2018 ANU Vice-Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning (Early Career Category), and the 2017 ANU College of Business and Economics Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.
In addition to academic supervision at the Honours, Masters, and PhD levels, Ding Ding is happy to help students connect with the industry through supervising successful internships that won the CBE Intern of the Year Award, with placements ranging from the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Australian Research Alliance of Child and Youth, Federal Election Property Management, ANU Finance and Business Services, ANU Division of Residential Experience, National Disability Insurance Agency, CHC Affordable Housing, Protiviti PTY Limited, and PwC.
Ding Ding is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
